1806 Madison St. Loft Apartment

1806 Madison St. Loft Apartment

Check in details.

Here’s the check in instructions for the Madison Loft. There’s lots of important instructions listed below but I prefer to over-communicate rather than under-communicate. So I’ll let you let yourself in to the loft, since it’s a self check in, but please let me know if you need anything at all by texting or calling me at 806-335-6450. We live just a few houses down the street, and in the front part of the house you’re staying in is also a separate airbnb too (so the house is kinda like a duplex). But the loft is completely separate and private from the main house. Because I live just now the street i can chat with you in person if you need anything or have questions. Or you can just text me if you need something! We love to go out to eat and go on hikes and bike rides all the time, so let me know if you need any suggestions at all on things to do.

That’s the entrance to the loft. It’s the very back of the main house at the end of the driveway at 1806 Madison St. The black metal stairs. You’ll go up those.

Keep in mind that the loft is in the back of the main house, here at the end of the driveway between 1806 Madison and 1804 Madison! Also make sure to not be super loud (music, dancing, yelling) after 11pm since the houses are so close together and there’s a lot of families with small kids on the block! Just helps me keep a good rep with my neighbors.

For parking, please do not park in the driveway, just park on the street on the park-side of the street (as circled in red in the pic above), do not park on the houses-side of the street since the other neighbors park in front of their own houses normally. It’ll make sense when you pull up.

If there’s not much parking available you can park down the street just a little bit here as circled in red by the chain link fence. It’s all free parking so you’re good.

The keypad is here. The code is 3124. Type in the code then press the red logo at the bottom. To lock when leaving, close the door and just press the red logo to lock it. To lock when inside, just manually turn the round lock with your hand to lock it when you’re in for the night.

There’s microwave under the kitchen sink if you need it. There’s a blow dryer under the bathroom sink as well as an ironing board and a box fan (in case you get hot) under the bed upstairs. and there’s also coffee, powder creamer, and sugar under the cabinets to the right of the stove so you can make yourself coffee. And for any other information just look at the two pieces of paper that are on the fridge. Also, the TV swivels out and can be turned, so feel free to pull the TV out if you want a better view from the couch.

I’m not sure if you read all the house details on our Airbnb listing but the house is built close to some train tracks, which come though night and day. But they don’t make much noise (just a very low hum) or sometimes they’ll clank together. To help with this, we have two white noise machines beside the bed in the loft upstairs. They work super great and all of our guests say they drown out any noises so you can sleep without interruption. There’s two settings on the white noise machines (high and low), and we also have some foam ear plugs under the kitchen sink just in case you need them....so I just wanted to make sure you’re aware of that too!

I’m not sure if your group needs to use the sofa bed, but for the sofa bed, you can pull out the bed from inside the sofa. But the sofa bed has a little design flaw where if you sit or stand at the foot of the sofa bed when folded out, the bar will bend and make the bed very uncomfortable to sleep in. So if you are using the sofa bed, please mac sure that no one sits or stands or gets on or off at the foot of the bed (which is circled in red above in the pic above) and only sits or gets on/off the bed on the sides (circled in green in the pic above. This will make sure the bed frame doesn’t get bent when being used and will allow for a much more comfortable night’s sleep! There is fresh sheets in the dryer and above the washer/dryer and  extra pillows above the cabinet above the refrigerator in the two shelves and in both of the cabinets (below the TV and upstairs). If you don’t want to use the sofa bed or if you need extra places for sleepers, there’s an air-mattress in the dresser below the TV with an air pump. Just let me know if you can’t figure any of that out or if you need any extra sheets for that stuff (I think there should be enough for your group).

Please make sure not to flush **any** wipes or feminine products down the toilet. The loft plumbing is run with a sump pump, which is a pump that attaches to the main house pluming. Anyway, we recently had a guest flush some baby wipes down the toilet and it caused the sump pump to get clogged and stop working, which actually flooded our house we live in and ruined some of our floors. So it’s super important to **only** flush human waste and toilet paper down the toilet and nothing else.

Also, it’s hard to tell, but the inside stairs are a bit like a ship’s ladder (I mention this in the Airbnb listing but sometimes folks miss reading all the details). That just means the stairs are steeper than normal stairs. So they can be a little steep coming down them. The best thing to do it to go down the stairs backwards, just like when you climb up and down a ladder.

Also one other tip: to keep all the heat from going upstairs it helps to keep the fan running to push the hot air down. Just so you’re aware!

Like most Airbnbs, we do not allow smoking inside or outside on the balcony (if you would like to smoke please smoke in the park across the street), we do not allow any parties, or any super loud noises past 11pm. You can laugh and be loud with laughter and have loud conversation all night long, but just no loud music or loud noises like dancing after 11pm please. We sound proofed the loft really well but the only thing I’ve ever heard late at night is loud music, so i ask guests to avoid that after 11pm for my neighbors sakes. So be sure to be respectful of that while you’re here!

One more thing I forgot to mention. If you see any tiny orange spots on the linens those are some rust spots from a couple months ago - our dryer had a small rust problem we didn’t know about but it’s been fixed recently! 🙈🙈🙈 But all the linens have been washed and bleached like crazy so they’re super clean. But the little stains haven’t come fully out 🤦🏻‍♂️ Sorry about that! Just wanted to you to know :)

The space is only about 10 months old, so very new, so just let me know if there’s anything missing or if you need anything and I’ll leave it on your front door. You can reach me at 806-335-6450
